Copyright and Takedown Policy

How rights holders can report products and how Aksara reviews takedown requests.

Last updated: September 25, 2026

Seller responsibility

Sellers may upload and sell only content they own or have permission to distribute. A license to use an asset is not automatically a license to resell the asset as a digital product.

Submitting a notice

Send a product report or email support@aksara.so. A copyright notice should include a physical or electronic signature, identification of the copyrighted work, the exact Aksara URL and material at issue, your name and contact information, a statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorized, and a statement under penalty of perjury that the notice is accurate and you are authorized to act for the owner.

Review and action

Aksara may restrict or remove a product while reviewing a credible notice. We may ask for more information, notify the seller, preserve relevant records, revoke buyer access when legally necessary, and suspend sellers who repeatedly infringe. We may share the notice and contact information with the affected seller as part of the review.

Counter-notice

A seller who believes a removal resulted from mistake or misidentification may send a counter-notice with a physical or electronic signature, identification of the removed material and its former location, a statement under penalty of perjury that removal resulted from mistake or misidentification, and the seller's name, address, phone number, consent to the jurisdiction required by 17 U.S.C. 512, and agreement to accept service from the person who submitted the notice.

When the law allows, Aksara may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after forwarding a valid counter-notice unless the claimant tells us that a court action has been filed. Restoring a product does not permit material that violates another law, Stripe rule, or Aksara policy.

Bad-faith notices

Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing, or that removal was mistaken, can create legal liability. Consider speaking with an attorney before submitting a notice if ownership or permitted use is unclear.
