Add recipient details to a PDF

Generate a private recipient copy while retaining the original.

The 30-second answer

When available, enable PDF stamping on a draft release, then approve the preview. Supported PDFs receive recipient email and an access reference on a private copy. Original files remain unchanged and legitimate access continues if stamping fails.

Check support

The current processor supports unencrypted, unrotated PDFs up to 50 MB and 500 pages. Unsupported, encrypted or unreadable files receive an explanation. Stamping is optional and does not prevent a recipient from sharing a downloaded file.

Keep originals

Stamped copies are generated asynchronously in private R2 storage. Your immutable source file stays unchanged. Historical purchases keep their release settings.

Recover from a failure

The first download can use the original while processing is pending. If processing fails, the original remains available and the seller receives failure activity. Review the file and settings before trying a replacement release.

What success looks like

A supported private derivative shows the correct recipient details without changing or blocking the source file.

Common questions

Is this DRM?

No. Stamping identifies the recipient on a copy. It does not prevent copying or external sharing.
